Plants in home

Comfort Maximized – From New Plants to Furnace Service

With cooler temperatures settled in and days that seem like there’s very little any daylight, it can be difficult to always feel like your home is a cozy place to be. That extends far beyond having annual furnace service too, because there are numerous things you can do to help make your home feel cozy even when your furnace is running at its best.

Here are a few that we find very helpful here in the Main Line:

  • Seal air leaks. Air leaks, whether they’re around your windows or your doors, can mean a great deal of air is leaving your home. Not to mention that the air that you’ve just paid to be heated or cooled is heading outside also. There are a host of choices that can help you close those gaps, from weatherstripping to caulking, and they are fairly easy fixes for homeowners to take care of themselves.
  • Swap your furnace filter. This is one of the most crucial things you can do to not only improve your furnace’s efficiency, but also to help save you on your bills. Plus, you don’t need to have your furnace service technician to do it, you can take care of it yourself. It’s typically recommended to swap your furnace filter every one or two months to get the most out of its benefits, but some could last even longer.
  • Buy plants. Indoor plants can offer a variety of comforts for your home. Not only are they visually pleasing, they can likely better your indoor air quality as well because plants absorb a number of toxins that are emitted from a variety of common household cleaners, paints and other products.
  • Furnace service. This should be something that you’re already doing, but it never hurts to have a reminder. Having furnace service completed annually helps make sure that your furnace is in working-order, and if there’s a need for repairs, those can be addressed so your comfort isn’t in trouble.

It doesn’t have to feel overwhelming to keep a comfortable home when winter sets in. Feel free to give us a call at 610-626-2540 or set up an appointment online to learn more about any of these suggestions or find out more about furnaces, our furnace service or anything else comfort related.
